Plot Application service is the only digitized process and has an online form that must be filled. Once the application is submitted by the client, the application is printed and evaluated, followed by a rejection/approval and finally a “Letter of Acceptance'' is issued in cases where the plot allotment is accepted. The “Letter of Acceptance'' is further sent through a courier service. Certain documents still need to be submitted in hard form even if the application process has been done online; this includes documents such as Demand Draft. The processing time varies from case to case, in certain situations where “Demand Drafts” are involved, the processing time may increase on account of the Demand Draft bouncing. The department intends on expanding its digital footprint along with integrating their processes both internally as well as externally with other departments, however, they state that these changes will come slowly in the long run. Bringing each digital change to maturity is a time-consuming process that requires constant evaluation and addressing issues that come along the way.
